Willie Edward “Ed” Stone, 87, of Tifton passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Stone at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mr. Stone will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive immediately following the service on Saturday in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Stone was born March 26, 1928 in Tifton, the son of Otis Dewey Stone and Josie Sivilla Williams Stone, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Doles Stone, his second wife, Alice McCaskill Stone; a daughter, Dianne Stone Godwin; five brothers, Johnny Stone, Clyde Stone, Harold Stone, Billy Stone and Lloyd Stone; and three sisters, Lois Hollis, Mary Lou Cooper and Lavelle Jordan. He was a retired construction worker with Jones Construction Company in Tifton. He had lived in Tifton for the past 50 years. Mr. Stone is survived by one sister, Gracie Lee Cooper of Brookfield; and two grandsons, Frankie Dillard of Nashville and Ray Gutierrez of Lenox.
