Jackie Ronald Stone, 68, of Ocilla passed away Friday, May 1, 2015, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Jack Perrin and Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mr. Stone will be laid to rest at Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Jeremy Hill, Austin Morris, Jamie Lee, Korey Bridges, Mike Flippo and Keith Bridges will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Wheatley, Marty Lisenby, Lewis Dean, Perry Conger, Jimmy Taylor, Clay Knight and Bobby Dean. Mr. Stone was born June 11, 1946 in Nashville, the son of Alma Connell Stone of Tifton and the late Guy Henry Stone. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Bentley Stone; one brother, Joel David Sirmons; and his mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Bentley. He was retired and had worked as a mechanic at Byrd’s, R. E. Carmichael, J & B Power, Powerhouse Outdoor Equipment. He served in the United States Army, the Army Reserves and the National Guard as a mechanic. In addition to his mother, Mr. Stone is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Genger Stone of Tifton and Chris and Dawn Stone of Loganville; one daughter, Michelle Stone of Ocilla; one brother, Kenneth Sirmons of Tifton; two sisters, Linda Knight of Tifton and Gwen Bridges of Ashburn; and three grandsons, Shane Stone of Loganville and Beau and Brady Stone, both of Tifton; and two granddaughters, McKenzie Lee of Ocilla and Alex Stone of Loganville.
