Ruth Vance Morley, 78, of Tifton died Saturday, February 15, 2014, in Charleston, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Tifton. Rev. Paula Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the First United Methodist Church in Tifton. Mrs. Morley was born on January 26, 1936 in Tifton and was the daughter of Hoyt Vance Sr. and Lucille Vance, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe Vance; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Vance Sledge. She was a homemaker and a member of Ty Ty Methodist Church. She graduated from Tifton High School and received her B.A. degree from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Morley is survived by her husband, L. Scott Morley of Tifton; one son, James “Jimmy” Scott Morley of Middleburg, Florida; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Crabtree of Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers, Hoyt Vance Jr. of Tifton and Jimmy Vance of Madison; three sisters, Ann Vance Cannon of Columbus, Ernestine Clay of Macon and Martha Sue Gowen of Jacksonville, Florida; and three grandchildren.
