Freddie Phillip Stinson, 65, of Douglasville passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Memorial funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Stinson was born on October 31, 1947 in Enigma and was the son of James Douglas Stinson and Bessie Arliss Smith Stinson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Phillip Stinson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church in Tifton. He was a gun collector, enjoyed NASCAR and loved his family.
Mr. Stinson is survived by his wife, Shirley Stinson of Douglasville; one daughter, Sandy Holt of Tifton; two step-daughters, Kim Evans of Douglasville and Kellie Evans of Eastman; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; five brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
