Albert Swails, 90, of Enigma died Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Pastor Steve Luke will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Swails was born on September 30, 1922 in Berrien County and was the son of Bennie Swails and Lovie Luke Swails, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Saving Grace Ministries in Tifton. He was also a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Swails is survived by his wife of 70 years, Thelma Gibbs Swails of Enigma; one son, Robert Lynn “Bobby” Swails of Enigma; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Rudy Smith of Claxton, Debbie and Randy Gibbs of Enigma and Barbara and Bobby Paulk of Tifton; two sisters, Betty Goode and Geneva Hall, both of Berrien County; five grandchildren and their spouses, Ann and Mike Jenkins, Cathy and Ben McNair, Dana and Bryan Basso, Dena and David Stainback and Keith and Casey Gibbs; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Basso, Karlee Basso, Blake Stainback, Nathan Stainback, Tristen Gibbs and Mickey McNair; and two great-great grandchildren, Cameron Moore and Corson Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Southern Care Hospice, 412 First Street, SE, Moultrie, GA 31768.
