William Robert Smith, 74, of Ty Ty died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013. The place of the service will be provided later. Rev. Dean McKinney will officiate with burial to follow. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Smith was born on August 17, 1938 in Oconee County, South Carolina and was the son of Ralph Smith Reba Elaine Elliott Smith Bearden, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, James Bearden; and two infant sons. He was retired from Union Camp and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Brenda Claudette Montgomery Smith of Ty Ty; one son, James Ernest Smith of Ashburn; three daughters, Pam Stuckey of Tifton, Peggy Sue Smith of Cottonwood, Alabama and Patricia Ann Garnto of Ty Ty; one brother, Carl K. Smith of Lakeland, Florida; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
