George Gibbs Martin, 78, of Tifton died Monday, March 11, 2013, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Fletcher Cemetery in Irwin County. Dr. Wayne Roe and Rev. Jimmy Albritton will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Martin was born on June 18, 1934 in Ty Ty and was the son of Carlton T. Martin and Bessie Lee Gibbs Martin, both deceased. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Linda F. Martin of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Boo Wedenfeller and Julie and Bill Jimerson; two step-daughters, Tanya Jordan and her husband, Brady, and Evonne Harris; one son, Michael Martin; one step-son, Nathan Gabel and his wife, Amanda; several grandchildren; one sister, Frances Martin Croft; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
