Alvin Lee “A.J.” Castleberry, Jr. 60, of Omega died Friday, March 8, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Donnie Sloan will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. William Dillard, Mike Fulgum, Jeff Fulgum, Ralph Murphy, Dewayne Roberts, Harold Leverett, Scott Smith and Jimmy Hall will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Wood and Danny Ross. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Castleberry was born on January 20, 1953 in Colquitt County and was the son of Alvin Lee Castleberry, Sr. and Alberta Castleberry Castleberry, both deceased. He was also preceded by three brothers. He was a turf grass farmer and a member of New Hope Holiness Baptist Church in Worth County. Mr. Castleberry is survived by his wife, Mary Beverly Castleberry of Omega; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William Richard Castleberry and Alvin Carlton and Penny Castleberry, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Belinda and Didier Bruno of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Wanda Castleberry of Cordele and Lamar and Susan Castleberry of Savannah; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Gene Evans of Barney; nine grandchildren, Christa Bishop and her husband Bryan, Heather Robinson, Hope Castleberry, Angel Castleberry, William Cody Castleberry, Ashley Castleberry Hill, Alvin Blake Castleberry, Carlton David Castleberry and Walker Cole Castleberry; and one great-grandchild, Cassie Bishop.
